Piet Theron holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and an MPhil in Environmental Science, and brings more than 28 years of experience in natural resource management and conservation across southern Africa.
Piet specialises in large, complex, multi-stakeholder conservation and rural development programmes at landscape scale. His work has centred on transfrontier conservation, including 18 years with the SADC Transfrontier Conservation Areas Programme and a term as International Coordinator for the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park and Conservation Area. He has since advised on biodiversity finance, community livelihoods, and nature-based economies, working with partners including the World Bank, Oppenheimer Generations, and the SADC TFCA Financing Facility.
Piet is a member of the IUCN and serves as a Board Member of the African Pangolin Working Group.
